Industrial Revolution

Summary - Industrial Revolution, term usually applied to the social and economic changes that mark the transition from a stable agricultural and commercial society to a modern industrial society relying on complex machinery rather than tools.

Why did the Industrial Revolution begin in Great Britain?

To a large poplulation of worker, the small island country had extenive natural resources. These natural resources include water power and coal to fuel the new machine; iron ore to construct machines, tools, and buildings; rivers for inland transportation; and harbors for wich merchant ships set sail. Great Brain also had an extending economy to support industrialization. Businesspeople invested in the making of new inventions. The bank had also played a role in the Industrial Revolution. The people had become incouraged to take out loans from the bank to invest in supplies to help them create new inventions.
