Napoleon Bonaparte was born in 1769 on the Mediterranean island of Corsica. He had come up with laws that would both strengthen the central government and achieve some of the goals of the Revolution and first wanted to to get the economy on a solid footing, by setting up and efficient method of tax collection and establishing a national banking system. The French monarchy under Louis XVI was viewed as oppressive and corrupt and the social structure was rigid, meaning it did not allow for social mobility which eventually forced the people to demand change.

Why was the French Revolution a significant movement in history and would you consider the French Revolution a success?

The French Revolution was a big movement in history because it the government was changed and not many people (the citizens of France) didn't like the fact that their new queen was Austrian and that she was wasting the country's money on clothes and unnecessary items. I do believe that the French Revolution was a success.
